ZAKOPANE TATRA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

The only Alpine-like mountains in this part of Europe with the highest point in Poland - the peak Rysy (2499m), with the alpine climate and the landscape showing sharp peaks overgrown with forests, broken up with by several broad valley and lakes. At the base of the Tatras - Zakopane - the tourist centre of winter sport and mountain tourism, a city showing many monuments of old wooden architecture built in the special, local style.
